Dakea has launched a window that does so much more than fill your room with light and fresh air.
More than just a roof window, the KAS is a full smoke ventilation system which creates and maintains a smoke-free layer above the floor in the event of a fire. The Smoke Vent KAS roof window is ideal for public buildings, office blocks and multiple occupancy homes as it ensures significantly improved visibility and ventilation for anyone inside in the unfortunate event of a fire, as well as giving firefighters quicker and easier access to the building.
The factory-fitted electric motor and gas struts on the Smoke Vent KAS roof window ensure it opens automatically in the event of a fire, quickly extracting excessive smoke and heat. The maximum position of the window sash is reached within 60 seconds when the smoke detector detects smoke in the atmosphere, the break-glass point is shattered or the fire/smoke detect button on the control unit is pressed. The control unit has a battery backup system that ensures an emergency power supply for up to 72 hours, so in the event of a power failure the window will still operate.
The Smoke Vent KAS roof window is a centre pivot smoke-ventilation roof window for sloping roofs between 15 and 60 degrees. It's also CE-marked in compliance with the European standard EN 12101-2 for smoke and heat exhaust ventilators.
Andrew Birch, Dakea's Regional Sales Manager GB & Ireland, comments: "Dakea is confident that the KAS will give anyone wanting that extra layer of safety in their building real peace of mind."
